Mayor-Council Government

In a Mayor-Council form of government, the Mayor is elected separately from the members of the city or town council. In this form of government, the Howard County Mayor is usually the chief executive in charge of managing the day-to-day operations of Howard County, Indiana and its departments. The Howard County Mayor's Office hires and supervises the department heads, though in some cases an administrative officer may be appointed to assist the Mayor in these duties.
