About Parks Departments

Are there fees for using parks?

Many programs and activities that are run by Parks Departments or take place at Parks Department facilities are fee-based. Many parks may be open to the public at no cost, though some heavily-trafficked parks may charge an entry or parking fee. State and federal parks that have campgrounds may also charge camping fees.

Are Parks Department programs and activities for residents only?

Parks Department programs and services are often limited to residents of the community. In some cases, Parks Departments may allow participation by non-residents, who must pay a higher fee. Use of public parks and passive recreation spaces is generally open to the public.
