Where are the animals at an Animal Shelter from?

Do Animal Shelters euthanize unwanted or hard-to-adopt animals?

Animal control agencies may euthanize animals that have not been adopted within a certain timeframe or animals that have shown aggression.

Generally, any member of the public may adopt a pet from an Animal Shelter. Some Animal Shelters will first screen or interview an individual in order to assess their suitability as a pet owner.
